Gas meters can be uncapped 1 of 2 ways –

At the meter – Ovo Energy's Meter Operatives are only qualified to re-instate a gas supply after a temporary interruption (i.e. when the meter is being replaced; they are not authorised or qualified to uncap a meter under any other circumstances) otherwise, the landlord/letting agency has to use their own Gas Safety Qualified Engineer.

At the supply – Ovo Energy's Meter Operatives can re-instate a gas supply that’s been capped at the supply (with no meter is in the property) and install a new meter.
