Properties can change hands quickly, one tenant out and the next one in. When it comes to switching the energy supply, Helpthemove work to a two day rule. This means we only want you to attempt to switch the energy supply if there is a 2 day vacancy period between the current tenant moving out and the new tenant moving in.

The reason we implement this rule, is to avoid switching the supply whilst the tenant is living there, and is therefore legally responsible. If the switch is requested in the vacancy period (whilst responsibility lies with the agent, on the landlord’s behalf), then it is possible for us to process. The new tenant will simply inherit the supply when they move in and after receiving their welcome letter, will be in a position to choose whether they would like to stay with the new supplier or choose an alternative.
