The utility companies require tenant details to update the responsible person on their accounts accurately.

It's really important to tell us when a property becomes tenanted by adding a Move In to the portal as soon as the new tenancy contract is agreed.

When you add a Move In, we'll ask you to provide the new tenant(s)' details (full name, contact method; either email or phone, and student ID where applicable).

This information is used to notify the property suppliers, including the new energy supplier and the Council and/or Water provider if you selected to notify them; that the landlord's account (for the vacant period) should be closed and a new account opened for the newly responsible tenant(s).

Be aware: If you do not add a Move In and provide tenant details in a timely manner, it can cause major problems for the property suppliers as they will be unable to bill the responsible party, accurately. This could mean your landlord's receive unwanted inaccurate bills for energy / water consumption or council tax, for a period of time where they were not legally responsible.
