Unless specifically requested, all energy bills for the Landlord will be sent to you as their Managing Agent.
When you add a Move In to the portal to let us know that a property is becoming tenanted, we pass this information on to our energy partner, Ovo Energy, so that they can close the Landlord's energy account and open the new tenant(s)' account on the date of the changeover.
Changing the name on the account triggers a bill to be sent out to you for the period that the Landlord was responsible for the energy consumption at the property (i.e. the vacant period). If you provided accurate meter readings on both the Move Out and the Move In, this bill should be accurate. If you didn't, the bill may be estimated based on previous energy usage at the property. To ensure accuracy you will need to provide an up to date reading to Ovo Energy.
If a property is vacant for some time, a bill may be sent by Ovo Energy before the Move In is added to the portal. Ovo Energy suppress Landlord billing until a Move In has been added to the portal. Ovo Energy will assume the property is still vacant and in the Landlord's name until they receive a Move In with the tenant's details.
